Corvette Invasion – COTA Austin

VETTE-RODDERS,  If you plan on attending The Corvette Invasion and staying at the INVASION & Vette-Rods Host Hotel (Hampton Inn), you had better act ASAP as rooms are running out.  I called tonight and got one room with two queens for a AAA rate of $121.  The Reservations person I spoke with informed me that only 7 rooms remain at that rate.  So, if you can, call tonight or first thing in the morning to ensure you get a room at the Host Hotel.

REGISTRATION FEE = $85 before July 6th.  Day of the event is $120

SATURDAY JULY 21 - TIME - 3:00 PM - 10:00 PM - All Corvette Owners will meet at the COTA track for a Car Show & Shine.  Vendors and live music will be featured.  After awards are announced, registered Corvette owners and their passenger will be allowed to take Parade Laps around the only F1 Track in America.  

SUNDAY JULY 22 - TIME - 9:00 AM - 11:00 AM - The Corvettes will Invade the Oasis Restaurant, 6550 Comanche Trail, Austin, TX 78732 for food, drink and socializing.  The cost for this is not included in the Registration FEE.  After enjoying the fantastic views of Lake Travis, head back to Houston on your own.

The Corvette Invasion started in Austin, Texas in 2013.  It all began when Steve Pond of Houston contacted Shawn Jones of Austin and discussed getting their Corvette clubs together for dinner.  Shawn organized the event at the local restaurant on Lake Travis.  What started out as a couple of the clubs getting together, quickly grew to a large event including over 300 Corvette owners coming out and showing their support.  In only a few years, the event has tripled in size and continues to grow.  Among the highlights is Danny Reed’s 1969 Astro Vette, once owed by Astronaut Alan L. Bean.  There will be live music by the Clutch Kings and parade laps on the only F1 Track in the United States.  2018 will be one of the biggest and best events held by the Corvette Invasion Team to date.  We are estimating a record attendance of Corvette owners from all over the world.
